I searched for months for a Blu Ray Player and found this on Amazon for a great deal. I didn’t need Wireless because I hard wired the Internet to the device and that was the plan. If you too do not need Wireless, this is the best Blu Ray player. Some reviewers have said that the load time is slow but that is to be expected with most players. If their focus was more on the picture quality and sound and NOT the load time, I am certainly okay with that.
You won’t be disappointed. Plus the internet and Amazon Video features are great.

BUYER BEWARE. The Panasonic Blu-ray player model DMP-BD80 CAN NOT be connected directly to Surround Sound 5.1 / 7.1 Speakers Systems. Although it has the capability of 5.1 / 7.1 Surround Sound it does not have the power to drive the speakers. You’ll need to purchase an external and separate Receiver/Amplifier to drive the speakers. No where on the box or in the instruction manual does Panasonic tell you this. For a few bucks more they could have added an internal power amplifier to make the set-up clean. Instead Panasonic forces you to purchase another component.

Purchased because of the high ratings of individuals and also reports. Received it very quickly. It was fast and easy to set up, and it works great! Wow, the blu-ray movies are fantastic! Am using an hdmi cable to the tv.

We haven’t used this player a lot, because we don’t have many blu-ray discs. The ones we DO have are animated or Pixar Disney movies & the picture is definitely sharper and in some cases has an almost 3D look to it.
No problems setting it up & the sound’s fine. Regular DVD’s look much better on this player, as well.
Would recommend as a good value & look forward to getting some regular Blu-ray movies so we can see how much better they look. That is, if I can get my granddaughter to give up her Disney movies long enough for me to watch something else. Guess I’ll watch after she goes to bed.

I received this player free with a Panasonic plasma TV I purchased from Amazon. The player is worth what i paid for it; NOTHING! The video drops out an average of 4 times per movie (regardless of whether is a standard or Blu-Ray disc).
I am extremely unhappy with the player, and I am extremely unhappy with Amazon. I called Amazon, and they basically told me there is nothing they can do to help me because the player was free with the TV. Of course, other merchants were selling the TV for a lower price, but I paid more to get the free Blu-Ray player.
As usual, it’s buyer beware. Just remember that Amazon is not always willing to stand behind the merchandise they sell.
