Customer Reviews

Careful
Got the blue ray player very fast, it played all my old dvd's from all over (Europe, Africa, Japan) and my blue ray movies. I bought some of the new blu ray live movies and it would not play them, so I contacted the seller to see what they recommended so I could maintain region free and not mess up the product, the basic response from all 5 emails was "not our problem", very disappointed I tried to find the firmware update and did. So I installed it and the new blu ray disc work fine but it no longer plays any of my old dvds. Just giving a warning to all those looking at this, reason I gave 3 stars because the product arrived very fast and it did play all my old dvds and blu ray but when I updated the player now only plays my blu ray disc, and customer service's attitude of "oh well its not our problem" is a big let down. Customer service -7 stars.

I am interested in getting a blu-ray player and confused as to which one to buy! Which would produce better sound and image quality? I like the idea of the SP3 to play games on as well, but I’m not totally sure I would use it a lot to play games. Right now, the price for either seems to be about the same, so I am torn - please help! Thanks for your input!

I want to know if it is better to buy a Sony Blu-ray dvd player, or should i buy a combo HD and Blu-ray player. Will the combo player work as good as a normal seperate player or is it better to just buy a Blu-ray player?

I accidentally grabbed a blu-ray disc movie for my daughter for her Easter Basket. It says it will play in a blu-ray player or a PS3. Will it play in a DVD player? We havent opened it, so I can still swap it if I need to. Thanks so much!!
Happy Easter!!

I’m buying a new player for a Tech-savy Uncle. I perhaps I should say Tech-crazy, since he blows large amounts of cash and gets minimal usage for his buck (aka he wastes his money) I need to know if it is worth my extra 150-200$ to go with the S500 rather than the S300 Blu Ray from SONY.

I have a HD TV in my bedroom and I want to get a blu-ray player. My TV’s only 720p (or whatever the next one down from 1080 is), is it worth getting a blu-ray player, will there be any improvement on regular DVD?

With DVDs and DVD players slowly phasing out, one will need to eventually purchase a Blu-ray player. However, does this require the purchase of a compatible television? In other words, if I purchased a Blu-ray player and hooked it up to my non-HD television, could it still play DVDs and Blu-ray discs (obviously without the HD)?
