Awesome Audio!
I lusted for one of these to add to my elaborate home theatre, but the MLP of around ,200.00 put me off. I was able to get one for far less, bought a demo Lexicon MC-12 processor (list ,000.00 but got for less than a 1/3 of that) and the picture and sound quality I enjoy on my 115" screen w/HD ceiling mounted projector is unbelievable. Plus I retired my Nakamichi CD player as this unit plays CD's with better sound quality than all but the most expensive CD players. The sound quality for blue ray films is vastly better than I ever expected. No more AMC or Regal Cinema seats for me!

Amazing Player....Just wish it would load faster
I have owned this player for sometime now and I am so impressed with the picture everytime I watch a new Blu Ray through it. I have owned several different players now (LG, Samsung, Panasonic), but none have wow'd me the way this players picture has. Ofcoarse with Blu Ray your are deeling with a far superior picture to DVD to begin with, but my experience with the players that I have owned has never been quit what this player is able to produce. The closest example I would have would be the BH200, an LG Combo (HD DVD and Blu Ray# player that had an original price tag of 00 when it was first introduced. The LG however does not offer Bitstreem capability for Dolby Tru HD and DTS Lostless, even though there has been updates for the player that claim so. The Denon does have this capability, and above all, it's picture can't be beat. If you are looking for a player that has all the latest features #i.e. Netflix, Pandora, BD Live# this is not the player for you. I have what I need of those features currently through my xBox 360, so I was truely just looking for a great standalone BD player. So, if you just need a player to play Blu Ray's great, with a picture that is far supperior to the competetion and can handle the patience required for load times #they are slow, this is the only draw back to the player#, I highly recommend giving this player a look.

Just as a side note, two other items to consider. First, the update process for this player, due to the lack of ethernet port is a little complicated. If you are not tech savy, you may want to look else where. I found the instructions at Denon's website clear and concise, and the update disc took me moments to burn, place in the player, and update. But for some, this can be a pain, and if you would prefer simplicity then look for a player with an ethernet port. Second, there have been several reports in blogs about the fact that this player along with Onkyo's BD507, are just FUNIA players in sheeps clothing due to the similarity in design that it holds. Just because a players has a similar design chasis, does not mean that the players parts, and more specifically, the Video and Audio DAC's are of the same quality. Not to mention the quality of that chasis #i.e. the weight and lack of plastic used#. The transport as well is designed better than the cheap plastic players that you would find at Walmart #i.e. Sylvania#. So in spite of what others may say, you are dealing with a much better design, and much higher quality parts. I use the example of a Hyundia vs a Lexus. They can design a Hyundia to look like a Lexus all they want #which lately has been the case) but at the end

I am very happy with my purchase of this Blu-ray player. It took a little while to get all the settings right, but the manual does explain it all. The color and crispness are excellent. Sound quality is wonderful. I matched this up with my Denon 2310 receiver and enjoy the compatibility between the two. I have not encountered any discs that could not play or it bombs out on yet. I don't think the load times are that bad, seems to me that everything loads around 20 seconds. But I have only played around 100 discs so far.
