Toshiba produced a nice Blu-Ray player for Toshiba HDTV users. The Regza-Link makes playing Blu-Ray discs a snap. Turn on the player and the link does the rest. Will recommend to others.

Let me start by making a few general comments. I really like Toshiba brand of items. In fact I had a Toshiba VCR, and currently use a standard DVD Toshiba player. I’ve read a review before with a person saying that if you want a player that will last for a long time, you wouldn’t be getting something from Toshiba. That is completely wrong and inadequate. I’ve had my Toshiba player for the last 8 years, and never had a single problem.
Now for the review on the BDX2000. I can’t even give a justice review on this item because I have as of yet been able to even play a movie. I’ve read people saying they didn’t like it because a universal remote didn’t work on it. Some I’ve read said the loading time makes too much sound, and gave it 1 or 2 stars. Listen, if the worse of my problems was that a stupid remote did not work on it, I would be lucky. I’m not one into envy, but listen I envy these people. I’m giving this thing 3 stars, and I cannot play a single movie without it freezing 3 times within an 8 mins. period. Clearly there is something off with the unit, so I’m taking it to have it looked at. I’m totally open for suggestions on what others might think the problem is. I find it hard to believe that in todays world you have to have the same brand on every device. That seems a little prehistoric to me. As far as the picture goes for the 8 mins. I tried to watch I think it looked great. I even tried just a regular DVD, and it looked pretty cool as well. My onle problem is that I cannot get through a movie without it freezing a hundred times.

I bought this as a second blu ray player for my bedroom ht. I got it on Black Friday at a local electronics store for 79.00. I’m not a huge fan of Toshiba because their customer support is completely bogus but I rolled the dice due to the price. My other br player is an LG, also an entry level, no frills player. As has been mentioned in other reviews, stopping during play then pressing play results in starting from the left off point. The BDX2000 does that but not consistently. I couldn’t figure out why it would resume on one disc but not another. Press play and still your breath. It also would not play a couple of used br discs I bought from the local Blockbuster. My LG played them without skipping. Upscaling on the Toshiba is just ok. Tray OPENING time from power on is aggravating. A regular DVD slides the tray open immediately, I can understand load time but a delay of the tray opening??? The BDX2000 also has a cover that opens when the tray slides out but has to be closed manually. That was dumb beyond description. By now I felt i’d overpaid. If you can find this for 50.00 and need a second player, go ahead. If not, bypass it and spend the extra money on a player that won’t annoy you with quirks.

This is a very good unit at a good price. Even the remote is easy to interpret!?!?! I have found it to be an excellent blu-ray player.

Work nice.
Lil slow to load and respond sometimes, especially if its BD. Also, the maximum angle at which remote control can be used is also restricted. U have to be basically in the front.
Other than that…The unit works just fine.
Its sleek and looks nice. I dont think the door/lid in the front was necessary.
Good buy for the price and cant complain.
